Greetings Bros, I just want to congratulate my lovely daughter Yasmin AKA "Yazzy" for competing in the Black Saga Contest that was held today at Towson State University in Baltimore Md. This is a elementary, middle and high school competition that is based on the students knowledge of Afro-American history.She had put in very long hours studying about the history of our people and by helping her to learn I also was learning as well. I also want to thank the founder of the Black Saga Contest Charles M. Christian for bringing this unique program to the Alex City Public School which by the way my daughters school is the first school in the state of Va to have this program. Kids of all races and backgrounds participated in this grueling event which lasted for five straight hours. Unfortunately her team did not place in the finals but they did a outstanding job of competing against kids who was already veterans in this competition. So hats off to all the teams who competed and tried their best to take top honors and better luck next year. Salaam !
